Bah Humbug!

I woke up this morning (ok...it was afternoon...) to find this "hilarious" cartoon from Adam Cadwell. Please note, I don't wear pixie shoes in real life. RAHHHHRGH. Thanks Adam!

I hope everyone (apart from Adam) had a nice Christmas. I have been sitting around eating party food, watching Big Train and enjoying the fact Lush is selling Red Ruby Slippers bubble bath bars again. Yeah!!
Yes I have some sushi comics to upload but I'm off to a knitting (yes knitting) xmas party now so will get something scanned in tomorrow!

Merry Christmas!

I intended to send out lizzlizz.com xmas cards but managed to lose a whole batch of them in my room (my room swallows things never to be seen again) So, here is an alternative xmas card, feel free to print it out to put with your other cards everyone!

I have been a bit lazy with the online comic sushi lately but plenty more to come after christmas! (maybe)

Here is a cartoon done for the Moor St Market featuring my new stall friends! (they chose what creatures/fruits they wanted to be!)

It is cute, if you like that sort of thing. If not you will find it sickly, and in which case I'd advice you buy the more beefy 'Bears in Your Face' (see previous post) Both available at the end of this week!

Xmas List!

Wow its been a month since I added a comic sushi to the online comic...what have I been doing?! I have about 10 strips/cartoons scanned in now waiting to be added this week!!!! First one today.

At the moment the shop is being refurbished- I've created a new shop blog page but might not keep it. I'm thinking it might be nice to have somewhere to put more info about things in the shop and maybe images of people wearing/with lizzlizz.com stuff and that sort of thing. I'll hopefully have LOADS of new things for sale in the shop and at Leeds Thought Bubble in two weeks....excited??? EXCITED??? you should be :oD

Things I want for Christmas (...but won't be getting) :o(

Nintendo Game Boy lunch box (impossible to find...where can I get one!!)-

An Omnichord (Expensive)

Tokyo Jazz Panda Mushroom clock (sold out)

American Apparel Dresses...

Biba Wallpaper (I have no walls to use it on really...)

Last Thursday I was at the Internet Zombie Screening of the promo for World Wide Dead!

More news on that soon!

And I meant to give this a mention earlier- if you haven't already checked it out Marc Ellerby has a new site for his Ellerbisms!!

Nintendo!

Melanie Maddison of Colouring Outside the Lines tagged me in this-

• Link to the person who tagged you.
(above)
• Mention the rules.
(yup)
• Tell six quirky yet boring, unspectacular details about yourself.
(below!)
• Tag six other bloggers by linking to them. (
I might not do this bit...)
• Go to each person's blog and leave a comment that lets them know they've been tagged.
(I'm punking out of this bit too...but in a future post i'm planning to write my top ten indie comics artists and top ten blogs, so that will make up for it...)

1. I live with a ginger cat called Oliver.

2. I collect chewbaccas- the smaller ones all sit on my desk- (sorry its a pretty bad picture but shows a few of them)

3. I drink green tea every morning from my disney mug.
4. I have annoying head problems- tinnitus from standing to close to the speakers at gigs without earplugs when I was younger (Reef and Beck I blame you...) And I have bad eyesight so I can't cross roads on my own in evening half light and can't see people unless they are right in front of me so i'm constantly ignoring people by accident/not recognising people. Its preeeety annoying. I want a tshirt that says "I'm not ignoring you, I just can't see you"

5. I love Nintendo- I got the Zelda case for £2.99 the other day- awesome huh! The crayons are stylusi (is that the plural for stylus?!)

6. I have too many pairs of Irregular Choice shoes...

I'm working on a few new things at the moment- more details soon! New stock for Leeds and Christmas! And comic Sushi will be back this week. :oD

Brighton!

This week I was in Brighton! sooo... now you can buy my comics in Red Mutha and Dave's Comics!

I had fish and chips and spotted this photo on the wall of the olden days-

I really like the way the ladies on the left are covering their faces, some people just don't like having their photo taken, even on holiday.

I also went to see How to Lose Friends and Alienate People. It was pretty bad. I think if you want to lose friends and alienate people take them to the cinema to see this film. Simon Pegg what are you doing!!

Here is a photo of my comic treasures from Birmingham-

And of Zine Arcade and the awesome postcards you get with it-

This week my online shop is being updated so it will be a lot easier to use. I might be at the London Underground Comics Year anniversary thing tomorrow but I'm not sure yet....see link below for more details! Oh and also a new strip is up on the Top Shelf website- Hairy Midget Elf (link on right) :oD

Tuesday 7 October 2008

A cat in a sink? come on, really?!

Only a quick blog because i should really be drawing storyboards for the internet zombie movie! I've been feeling a bit bummed out since Birmingham Comic Convention, it was nice to see everyone but I didn't feel myself, which reminded me of the quote my favourite You Tuber Disneykid1 has on his blog-

"I can't explain myself, I'm afraid, Sir, because I'm not myself you see."
-Alice in Wonderland

So, my review of the weekend consists of this image, which I believe sums up everything that can be said-

I'm really looking forward to Thought bubble in Leeds where I'll be sharing a stall with Liz Greenfield. I'm hoping to drag along my non comic friend for the weekend- she won't know anyone but comic people are generally pretty friendly :oD

I'm also hoping to go along to the year anniversary of London Underground Comics ! Which falls on the same day as 24 hour comics day! yeah!

Must go now, i'll take a photo of my comic booty bought at birmingham con for the next blog post!

Wednesday 1 October 2008

Shiny New Badges!

Here are some pictures of the shiny new badges for Birmingham comic con this weekend- They include a unicorn badge, a tofu badge, a veggie burger badge and a rainbow dinosaur badge :oD

Art Reviews/Light Night

Here is a sneak preview of my Limited Edition mini comic for Leeds Light Night, only available from OK Comics and the ones i have left will be sold at Birmingham Comic Con in 3 weeks. There are only 30 copies!!! I went to Light Night in Birmingham and it was great so if you live near Leeds don't miss it!

And now some art reviews-

***Art Review! Deer***

This is a beautiful work of art that I have on my wall, it is basically an old picture (postcard size) of some deer in a forest clearing. I look at it and it literally makes me cry with happiness. Then I throw up.

***Art Review! Rice***

At the weekend I went to this exhibition called "Of All the People in All the World". It was a really great exhibition, on the way in you were given a piece of rice which represented you and the exhibition showed various statistics of people in the medium of RICE, you could then place "yourself" (in rice form) onto a pile that represented you or you could keep "yourself" to take home in a bag.

I could have put myself in these piles-

People who travel by bus to work in Birmingham^

Population of Birmingham^

People who watched the final of the apprentice 2008^

I was especially surprised by the pile of rice that showed the amount of people who ate at McDonalds in one day (It was bigger than the population of Scotland) Do that many people really like McDonalds!?

...but in the end I took myself home in a bag. I thought about cooking myself up for dinner and laughing heartily at the comedy fun of eating myself in rice form but I had a Big Mac instead.

I'm still working on my next comic, posters, new badges and storyboarding for Internet Zombie Movie, more on that soon! Here is my new comic so far, as you can see a lot of work has gone into it already....

Low Energy Month!

I didn't actually take any photos from Low Energy Day so have stolen this one to prove I was there-

Everyone had awesome new stuff for sale!! (except me...I only had rubbishy photocopied flyers...doh)

I had a good weekend in London- I went to a 50s diner, met a kitten, spent too much money on stupid things, saw the X Files movie (don't listen to anyone who says it is rubbish, it was excellent- worth seeing just for Mulder's beard), played scene-it on the xbox, met lots of people i haven't seen in ages and drank my body weight in port.

I am busy at the moment with a few things- a special comic for Leeds Light Night and my next comic which will be out soon (possibly to be an exciting co-lab travel project....)
